22 November - 14 December 2014, Italy, Pergine Valsugana (Trento), "mappa memoria: [im] possible utopie", retrospective exhibition
It will be inaugurated on 22 November at 5 pm at the Foyer of the Teatro Comunale in Pergine Valsugana (Trento), Italy the retrospective exhibition of Paolo Vivian, entitled "mappa memoria: [im] possible utopie", organized by the Municipality of Pergine. It is an exhibition of artistic revelation everlasting human desire for Shangri-La, the search for a new Promised Land, for the flight of the spirit towards absolute freedom, where the myth of ideal beauty is a reality. The anthology covers the historical period of 30 years and in front of the audience (at the two exhibition spaces - Sala Maier and Exhibition Hall of the Teatro Comunale in Pergine) are over 70 works - paintings, sculptures and installations, which forming the artistic "topography" in the memory map of the artist. At the center of the presentation is spot the dialogue between the author's research in the field of collective memory and the concept of utopia, which in the project have been orchestrated by means of modern philosophy, mental mapping and the play of associations. In occation of the event was edited a monography with critical texts by Paolo Zammatteo and Dora Bulart, curators of the project (200 p, graphics and printing Publistampa Arti Grafiche, Pergine).

9 - 14 September, 2014, Italy, Trento, Pozza di Fassa, 2nd International Symposium of wooden sculpture in memory of Toni Gross
Paolo Vivian was selected to participate at 2nd International Symposium of wooden sculpture in memory of Toni Gross - the artist, teacher and alpinist, which takes place from 9 to 13 September in city of Pozza di Fassa (Trento). The artists from Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland, divided into two sections - guest artists and artists - former students of the Institute of Pozza. They will be challenged on the theme: "The Man and the Dolomites" . The group exhibition with the free works of the participators will be presented in the Municipality of Pozza di Fassa during the symposium. Will be awarded the two works from each sections, chosen by a special jury. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday ( 14.09.2014) at 10.00 am. The organizers of the event are the Union of Ladins de Fascia, the Scola Ladin - Liceum of Design and Arts, and the City of Pozza di Fassa.

The city of Sankt Blasien, Germany, in collaboration with the agency "Werbe - und aktivKreis St. Blasien eV" is organizing the XIX International wooden sculpture competition from 31 August to 7 September 2014. 15 artists from five countries were selected to work on the theme "Fire and Water", the motto dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Fire Department of St. Blasien. Paolo Vivian was invited with his project of monumental sculpture "Cross point between Water and Fire." Award ceremony and closure of the competition are on 7th September at 3 pm at the Piazza del Duomo in Sankt Blasien.

14 August 2014, Italy, Trento, Lavarone, "Il respiro degli alberi "(The breath of the Trees); Art and Nature project, grand opening
On Thursday, 14th August 2014 at 11:00 am in Lanzino, Lavarone (Trento), Italy will be presented to the public the new art trail of Arta and Nature - "Il respiro degli alberi" (The breath of the Trees"). Paolo Vivian has created "Memories of a forest" - a site-specific installation in larch wood from the 1700s. "Il respiro degli alberi" is an artistic journey made possible thanks to the financial support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Italy. The event is organized by the Municipality of Lavarone , curated by Gabriel Bertacchini.

16 - 31 July 2014, Bulgaria, Sofia, Gallery Shipka 6, Union of Bulgarian Artists, “ Hortus Memoriae”, solo exhibition
After the great success in Varna during the contempo - International Festival of Contemporary Art on July 16, 2014 in Sofia, in the presence of the artist will be opened the solo exhibition - sculpture and installations of Paolo Vivian entitled "HORTUS MEMORIAE". This exhibition brings together 28 works created in recent years. The idea of the project is to create an imaginary picture of the European family, combining the relationships and influences generated in the process of globalization, migration and distribution of cultural models in a united Europe. The presentation of Vivian in Sofia is organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Sofia, the Union of Bulgarian artists, Graffit gallery and Raya Georgieva Foundation. The exhibition is under the patronage of the Municipality of Varna, "Varna 2019" program and by thanks of the financial support of the Italian Institute of Culture - Sofia and the Fund "Culture" by Municipality of Varna.

7-11 July 2014, Italy, Trento, Lavarone, The breath of the trees, sculpture project
Paolo Vivian was invited for the curatorial project "The breath of the trees" (Il respiro degli alberi) in Lavarone (TR). From 7 to 11 July he will realize his installation of wood "Memories of one forest." The artistic project, funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento, involves the construction of a permanent exhibition of sculptures nestled in the foresrt, dedicated to the vital elements and functional structures of the tree, creative interpreted by artists selected in order to establish a dialogue with excited visitors . The curator of the project is Gabriel Bertacchini. The invited artists are Leonardo Nava, Gianpaolo Osele, Paolo Vivian , Gianangelo Longhini , Aldo Pallaro, Marco Nones, Alessandro Pavone. The Inauguration of the project will be on August 14, 2014 in conjunction with the event “ Arte all`Aperto”.

Sunday, 6th July at 11:00 a.m. at the Park Bastie in the city of Ala , Trento will be presented "The Axis between Earth and Sky", a monumental sculpture in red marble by Paolo Vivian. During the inauguration of the exhibition will be presented to the public the fruits of the work produced at the First Symposium of stone sculpture that was held in May 2014. The invited artists in the exhibition are Markus Gasser, Giuliano Orsingher, Claudio Passamani, Mirko Pavoni, Massimo Reniero and Paolo Vivian. The symposium, organized by the Municipality of Ala (TR) is curated by prof. Mario Cossali and Remo Forchini. In the occasion of the event is published a catalog with critic texts by the both curators.

3 - 5 July 2014, Italy, Trento, Fierozzo, "Bersntol: We Don’t forget" project, contest for sculpture in wood.
At the start is the project "Bersntol: We don’t forget" created in the memory of the Great War and the work of the miners in the valley of Mocheni. From 3rd to the 5th of July will be held the sculpture In wood contest entitled “Panca del Minatore”, organized by the Municipality of Fierozzo (Trento). Paolo Vivian with ten other artists will participate in the art competition that takes place in Fierozzo (Trento). The idea is to create the best "seat of the King" as the symbol of remembrance of the miners. Award ceremony will be organized on the 5th of July at 10 pm.

The XXVI edition of the International Sculpture Competition in wood will be held from 24 to 28 June at the city of Auronzo di Cadore, belluno province, Veneto region in Italy. The event is organized by the Municipality of Auronzo di Cadore (BL). Paolo Vivian participates in the contest with 11 prominent artists from Italy and abroad working in pine wood. The competition will continue with a public ceremony of closure at 28th June 2014 at 5 pm in Consular Hall of the Municipality.

On April, 29th in the presence of the artist, at Graffit Gallery Varna will be open a solo exhibition of sculptures and installations by Paolo Vivian titled "HORTUS MEMORIAE" regarding of artistic research into the field of collective memory and the human experience.
The gallery space with specially organized and coded positions of the works, involving the visitors in an intellectual and aesthetic rebus. The garden of memory of Vivian is inhabited by archetypes and models of modernity, part of the life of the great European family.
The exhibition takes place in the context of contempo - the VIth edition of international contemporary art festival in Varna. The participation of Paolo Vivian is organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Sofia, the festival Contempo and Graffit Gallery with the support of the Fund "Culture" of the Municipality of Varna , the insurance company "Armeec", Bulgaria Air, Devnya Cement ( Italcementi Group). In the occasion of event was published a catalog with texts by Anna Amendolagine, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia and Dora Doncheva, curator of the project.

Started Monday, May 19th the Symposium of Sculpture in stone in city of Ala (Trento), Italy. One initiative reported by the Municipality of Ala. In the historic center of the city five sculptors are intent on creating their works, such as "expressions of stone." Paolo Vivian was invited with Markus Gasser, Giuliano Orsingher, Claudio Passamani, Mirko Pavoni e Massimo Reniero. He will make a sculpture of red marble (approximately more than 3 meters) with the title " The Axis between Earth and Sky." The art curators of the project are the art critics prof. Mario Cossali and Remus Forchini. At the end of the initiative will be accompanied by a catalog and the works will be located inside the Parco Bastie in Ala.

Open for visitors from Wednesday, October 2 at 6 pm , on Friday, 4th October from 6 pm to 10 pm will be officially inaugurated the exhibition of Paolo Vivian and Federico Anselmi at Palazzo Ducale, in the space of Artelier spazio artistico. The exhibition, entitled "To swollen sails” is curated by Elisabetta Lodoli and Elena Boschieri. Vivian presents his wood sculptures in Genoa as a part of cultural program "Genoa in Blue" - collateral event of 53 International Boat Show. Hosted at Cortile Maggiore in the Palazzo Ducale Paolo Vivian exposes her totems of memory and bar codes, which tell about the "sea within us", where is hidden the metamorphosis of forms of collective memory and personal experience. The "sea outside" is in the painting of Federico Anselmi who paints on ancient sails. The dialogue between colors, matter and human senses will last from 2nd October 2013 to 10th January 2014. Working time during “Genova in Blue “ and Salone Nautico from 2 - 6 October is from 6 to 10 pm, from 7 October 2013 to 10 January 2014 is from 2 pm to 6 pm
