2009, 4 - 8 December, Italy, Levico Terme, 1st International Symposium of Sculpture in wood "Econtrarte" "

The Consortium Levico Terme in Center organizes the first edition of the symposium of sculpture in wood that will take place in the city center from 4 to 8 December, 2009. Artistic Director is  Bruno Cappelletti. 8 artists  are invited  from Italy, Germany and Austria. The theme are free. Paolo Vivian participate with his project “Maasai Ronda”, one ironical proposal for donation of Italy in Guard rounds, composed of warriors of the Maasai tribe of Africa

     2009, 28th September – 6th October, Lithuania, Vilnius, Central Lithuanian Academy of Music, Sounding door, international project

In Vilnius, Lithuania from 28 September to 6 October 2009 is presentation of international conceptual project "Talking doors/Sounding door", curated by Lithuanian artist Julijonas Urbonas. The project is part of the international program for Vilnius – European culture capital for 2009. In the project's part "The Sounding door" after selection participate 17 artists from 10 countries. Italian project "Dindele Dondele" made by Paolo Vivian /performance/ and Luciano Olzer /sound editing/ with curator Dora Doncheva-Bulart is participating in the prestigious event. The sound installation is result of performance made by Paolo Vivian in thechurch Saint George in Italy where enters into the role of bells ringer. The project seeks changes in socio-religious attitudes and attempts to provoke reflection on taboo in itand it is a reflaction of artictic research in the field of collective memorie.

     2009, 30 August – 5 September, Germany, Sankt Blasien, 14th International contest for sculpture in wood “Sculpture in the city”

The city of Sankt Blasien in cooperation with the agency "Werbe- und aktivKreis St. Blasien e. V" organizing the 14th International contest for sculpture in wood from 30 August to 5 September 2009. The theme of this edition is "Apollonian and Dionysian." The project of Paolo Vivian was selected with 17 other projects by artists from 12 different countries. Award ceremony and closing of the event is on 6th September .

“Between Spirit and Memory”, solo exhibition by Paolo Vivian, sculpture, objects, installation and video, sala Maier, Pergine Valsugana, opening : Saturday 15th August 2009at 5 p.m. Presentation arch. Paolo Zammatteo. With this exhibition the artist present the result of his artistic research in last two years in the field of collective memory and into contemporary social behavior, the research realized by projects in Italy and Europe.      

     2009, 20 – 26 July, Italy, Castel Tesino, VIII International sculpture contest for wood  "Lights and shadows of the wood"

7th edition of the international sculpture contest "Lights and shadows of the wood" starts in castel Tesino,in Italy on 20 july. Paolo Vivian participates in the contest with 23 artists from Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Turkey. Organizators of the event are  Centro di Documentazione del Lavoro nei Boschi with  collaboration of  Rete trentina di educazione ambientale, Agency for tourism and  Sistema Bibliotecario Intercomunale Lagorai. Tree artists to be win the prize for wooden sculpture. Presentation of the works of the winners is on 26th July at 6 p.m. in the garden of Castel Tesino.

     2009, 13 July - 13 September, Italy, Baselga di Pine, SEI PER SEI, 2nd International Sculpture Project in wood

2nd edition of International sculpture project “SEI PER SEI” in  Baselga di Pine, Italy starts on 13 july 2009. Roberto Nones /Italy/, Lara Steffe /Italy/, Girts Burvis / Latvia/, Nestor Vildoza /Argentina/, Chris Bailey / New Zealand/ and Arianna Gasperina /Italy/ were invited to  work on the beach of lake Serraia. Theme for the project is free. Organizers of the event are Agency for Tourism in Pine and Valley Cembra in collaboration with the Municipality of Baselga di Pine and Skulpturclub. Main sponsors are Stihl and Dorigoni s.p.a.. Curator of the project is Paolo Vivian.            

     2009, 12 July, Lithuania, Vilnius, gallery “Actus magnus”, “Ding Dong. Concert for lovers”, performance

“Ding Dong. Concert for lovers” -  performance, photo installation, video. In the space of “Actus magnus” gallery the artist create imaginary temple through photo installation and video. In his performance the audience dressed in white play the bells and go in the artistic journey to the field of collective memory.

”Dindele dondele campano” project by  Paolo Vivian is presented from Bulart gallery in the First contemporary art fair in Baltic States – ARTVILNIUS. The project researches identity of contemporary religious attitude trough means of installation, objects and video. The project of Paolo Vivian is a result of performance made in April in the church Saint George in Serso and it is a result of his artistic interest in field of collective memory.

ARTVILNUIS’09 - The first international fair of contemporary art in the Baltic States, organized by LMGA- Lithuanian Art Gallerists’ Association. ARTVILNIUS 2009 is part of the program "Vilnius - cultural capital of Europe 2009".The curator of the fair  is  Prof. Dr. Raminta Juren. ARTVILNIUS'09  will be held in Vilnius in the period 8-12 July in LITEXPO - Lithuanian Exhibition and Convention Center. The area of 11,632 sq. m will be occupied by some 100 well-known and new galleries from Lithuania, Estonia, Croatia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Iceland, Russia, Italy, Portugal, India, Argentina, Mexico, Switzerland, Romania, Latvia, Spain, Poland etc. Participation is after selection of the projects by international jury. Auxiliary pavilion spaces and approaches of LITEXPO will shelter exhibitions of sculptures, objects and installations, expositions of art publications, cultural institutions etc. Podium discussions, educational events and plenty of other different events are also in the program of ARTVILNIUS’09.
Paolo Vivian participates in ARTVILNIUS’09 with BULART gallery by "heARTmythology" project with the artists from Bulgaria and Germany.Curator of the project is Dora Doncheva

     2009, 19 June, Netherlands, Drenthe, International sculpture project  “Art and nature”,  Opening of the sculpture trail ‘Dorpsgezichten’ (Village Faces).  

In  may 2009 Paolo Vivian was taken participation in International Sculpture Project “Art and Nature”  in Holland. With 6 sculptors from France, Italy, Germany, USA, Israel, USA he was created  first points for new  sculpture trail in famous forest park in Holland. His project “Menhir Memory” is established in the town Gees. Beatrix, the queen of the Netherlands  visited on the 19th of June the New sculpture project ‘Dorpsgezichten’ (Village Faces). Organizer of the event  is  the foundation Natuurkunst Drenthe with collaboration of open air museum Ellert and Brammert. Curator of the project is arch. Adri de Fluiter.  The project runs till 2012.

     2009, 23-30 May, Luxembourg, Differdange, 2nd  International Stone Sculpture Symposium

The city of Differdange in collaboration with the Cultural Commission organized second edition of international sculpture symposium in stone at the Parc Gerlache in Differdange. The theme of this edition is "Fortissimo, Music On the Rocks."  and it is in honor of the 125th anniversary of the Harmonie Municality of Differdange. The project of Paolo  Vivian is "More than a strong-Snake rattles”. In the last edition of the symposium in 2008 Paolo Vivian received the first prize for his work "Chromosome 4."

Paolo Vivian was invited to create the sculpture with title “Menhir”. The project will continued to 2012.Official opening of the edition 2009 is on 19 June 2009.
